Got the new Acura MDX out for review and couldn’t sleep last night. Figured I’d take her out for an early morning drive (5am’ish?) and found a gorgeous location. Too bad IG downgrades the photo quality quite a bit. Anyway, just thought I’d share the photo with you guys!

Can’t wait to hear the review. I hope they fixed all the complaints with the refresh (mainly the transmission quirkiness). I can live with the front end now. Either this or a used Cayenne will replace my 2009 MDX.

The 9 speed? I’ve been complaining about it since I first experienced it last year. Some of the firmware updates have fixed a few of the issues, but it’s still a little wonky. Just finished a two week, 5200 kilometer road trip review of the new Honda Pilot which also had the same 9 speed. That had some tranny issues as well, though only when you plant your foot down suddenly.

Why not just share the actual photo you took rather than IG if you think the IG quality is bad?

Because that thought process would require cognitive reasoning that I apparently lack this early in the morning. :p
Good point, though. Might have to change that up.

haha. It’s early morning and you’ve been up...well...early. No worries, was just curious. Still a great photo, thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I was hoping some software updates would improve it. I’m a little leary anyway. It seems anytime Honda introduces a new transmission for their V6's it takes them a generation to get them right. We all remember the CL/1st gen MDX issues. I wish they would of just used the ZF 8spd a lot of other manufactures are using. It’s a fantastic trans. This surprises a lot of people but I’m having a hard time finding anything that drives as good as my 2009. A lot of people aren’t aware that the suspension was tuned on “The Ring”, and it has driving dynamics that make you forget it’s a 7 passenger SUV. The closest thing I’ve found is the E70 X5, but the reliabilty scares me. The Cayenne handles good but the electric steering isn’t quite right. I hear they’ve perfected it in the Macan though. Still need to drive one of those.
